Born in Kent, Steve's parents moved the family to St.Ives in Cornwall when he was two. A passion for drawing and painting followed. On leaving school he went on to study illustration at his local Art College, graduating in 1985. Since then, Steve has worked with a range of clients from around the world, providing work for publishers, stamp design, advertising campaigns, packaging and greetings cards. He has received six major international Illustration awards and nominations for his work. He enjoys working in a variety of fields and subjects, often linked by his loves of history and detail. Steve now lives in Cardiff with his wife and three children.

Steve has worked with a range of clients from around the world, providing work for publishers, stamp design, advertising campaigns, packaging and greetings cards. In 2000 Steve started working on a critically acclaimed series of books for Dorling Kindersley including the multi award winning 'A Street Through Time.' He recently collaborated with Dorling Kindersley again, illustrating 'The Child Through Time Time' ( 2017). For more than fifteen years he has been working with renowned military publishers, Osprey Publishing, provided paintings for more than 50 books.
